Sakaemachi Ginten-gai” was established in 1954 and boasts a long history in the Mojiko area.
The historic shopping street stretches for about 300 meters, and new stores are opening one after another, and events are held on weekends, making it a bustling spot.
Opened on November 26, 2024, “Bee TAKO” is a new place to relax and enjoy the delicious takoyaki and yakisoba made by the beautiful owners.
The restaurant has both counter and table seating, creating a stylish yet warm space.
The restaurant is popular with locals as well as tourists and offers a menu that can be ordered both eat-in and take-out.
A notable restaurant with a menu full of reasonably priced dishes that you can stop by on a whim!
Let me quickly introduce the menu we ordered this time.
Takoyaki with 4 flavors to choose from
Bee TAKO’s specialty is the takoyaki with a large octopus (550 yen for 8 pieces).
There are four seasonings to choose from: sauce, shoyu, shio sauce, salt sauce, and ponzu (Japanese vinegar), and toppings such as “negi” (100 yen), “mentaiko mayo” (100 yen), and “cheese” (200 yen) are available for an additional charge.
At the eat-in restaurant, you can even taste four different flavors at once.
Take-out is also available, so it will be pleasant to eat while looking out over the ocean at Mojiko, a 5-minute walk away!
With its fluffy outside and melty inside, it is so delicious that once you try it, you will not be able to stop.
The dough with bonito broth was topped with a generous amount of bonito flakes, which was very tasty and gave the dish a strong bonito flavor.
What particularly impresses me is the size of the octopus in each takoyaki!
Since we were there for a photo shoot, we were given a special opportunity to see the octopus being grilled, and were surprised at the size of the octopus actually being used.
I want to keep the size of the octopus so that everyone will be happy. The owner’s personality is evident in his takoyaki, which are delicious and tender.
Impressed by the clear noodles! Shio Yakisoba
Shio Yakisoba” (600 yen) is perfect for the coming season.
Other noodle dishes include “Yakisoba” (600 yen), “Yaki Udon” (600 yen), and “Shio Yaki Udon” (600 yen).
The yakisoba noodles are boldly grilled on a teppan, and the clear, glutinous noodles are an irresistible treat.
You can also customize it by adding “egg” (100 yen) or “negi” (100 yen) as toppings!
The vegetables and pork are used in abundance, and the flavor of the ingredients is irresistible! It is more filling and satisfying than the price suggests.
It is also available for takeout, so we recommend enjoying it outside on a sunny day or as an addition to your dining table.
Happy to eat and walk around! octopus wire
Tako-Sen” (300 yen) is perfect for strolling around Mojiko Retro.
The packaging is also irresistible!
The illustration of Hachi, the image character of “Bee TAKO,” was drawn by a staff sister. His face is made into a takoyaki (octopus dumpling), and he is very cute.
Two takoyaki are sandwiched between two crispy rice crackers, making this dish not only delicious but also a fun change of texture.
Homemade special sata andagi
These “sata andagi” (100 yen per piece, 5 pieces for 480 yen) are also perfect for eating on the go.
They are carefully handmade in the store every morning, and the dough is made with plenty of eggs and left to rise for a day.
It is not too sweet and you can enjoy its fluffy texture even the next day.
Quantities are limited, so if you are interested, please be quick! Reservations are also recommended… ♪
Oden menu is also very popular
Oden” (120 yen and up), a popular dish from the cold winter months, offers about 11 different kinds of oden.
There is a wide variety on the menu, and many customers enjoy a quick bite while drinking in the restaurant. The oden soaked in broth is excellent!
Mojiko Retro Observation Deck” is located about a 5-minute walk from “Bee TAKO” and offers a view from 103 meters high and 31 floors above ground.
The night view is recognized as “Japan Night View Heritage” and offers a panoramic view of the Kanmon Straits.
There is also a café that can be enjoyed from 10:30am to 9:30pm, making it a great place for a yoru-moji stroll. (Last order is 9:00 p.m.)
We hope you will discover Mojiko’s retro charm, which can be enjoyed both day and night.
