The “Observation Restaurant Hikari no Aruba” is located a minute’s walk from JR Mojiko Station.
It is located on the 7th floor of the Nissan Ship Building.
In fact, this restaurant offers a superb view of the Mojiko Retro district, as well as the Kanmon Straits and Mojiko Station, while enjoying your meal!
The restaurant has a spacious interior with mainly table seating.
The nostalgic atmosphere of the Mojiko Retro district is irresistible.
The table seats are prime seats to enjoy your meal with a view of the “Kanmon Bridge” that connects Kyushu and Honshu. Reservations are essential!
Open until 10 p.m., the night view from this location is truly spectacular.
You can see not only the Kanmon Bridge, but also “Kaikyo Yume Tower” and the Ferris wheel in “Karatto Yokocho” in the Shimonoseki area! You can also see the Ferris wheel of “Karatto Yokocho”.
The restaurant has gained a reputation for its beautiful and memorable night view, and many people say they want to use the restaurant for anniversaries or to propose to someone. The “Surprise Course” (16,000 yen per person) is also a popular menu item.
The course includes two appetizers, pasta, lobster, Wagyu beef steak, and a dessert plate, as well as a bouquet of flowers and a fireworks display for the couple.
Of course, we offer not only courses, but also many other menu items that you can stop by and fill up on at a reasonable price.
Let me quickly introduce the menu we ordered this time.
Teppanyaki Curry Doria
Teppan-yaki Curry Doria” (individual dish: 1,300 yen; with salad and soup: 1,750 yen) is made with a traditional demi-glace sauce that has been continuously added for more than 20 years.
You can also order a large serving for an extra 300 yen.
The mild, rich, and deep baked curry doria is made with buttered rice, and the rice is filled with beef tenderloin!
It is a blend of three types of cheese, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture and savory flavor.
The sauce is based on a secret demi-glace sauce in which a wide variety of ingredients are infused, and is spiced with a low level of hotness.
Even small children enjoy eating this baked curry doria, even those who do not like spicy food. Please try it!
Carpaccio of Kanmon Octopus and Fresh Fish
The “Carpaccio of Kanmon Octopus and Fresh Fish” is a sumptuous dish using local Kanmon octopus.
The gorgeous arrangement of the dishes is eye-catching the moment they are brought to you, and your heart will be captured.
The octopus grown in the fast-flowing Kanmon Straits is characterized by its elasticity and robust flavor.
The best fresh fish of the day is also used, and on this day it was sea bass.
It was served with a deep balsamic sauce, which was delicious and enhanced the flavor of each ingredient.
Direct from Italy! Parma Ham Salad
Another popular menu item is “Parma Ham Salad” (1,300 yen)! Parma Ham Salad” (1,300 yen).
This gem is made with a generous amount of cheese shaved from the top of a prosciutto ham cut from a large chunk.
Parma ham shipped directly from Italy has a concentrated and rich flavor.
Fresh orange olive oil is drizzled over the top for a refreshing taste of rich cured ham and full-bodied cheese.
Drink Menu
The restaurant also offers a wide variety of beverages.
It is perfect for daytime drinking as well as for important evening occasions!
This time, I ordered “non-alcoholic sparkling” (500 yen) and “non-alcoholic red wine” (500 yen).
Both are made from grapes used to make wine, and you will be impressed by their authentic flavor.
Near the restaurant is the “Blue Wing Mojiko”, a sacred place for Mojiko lovers, and the 31-story “Mojiko Retro Observation Deck”, so you can also enjoy the beautiful Mojiko Retro cityscape.
Please be sure to stroll Mojiko Port at night before or after your meal.
Please spend a memorable time at one of Mojiko’s most spectacular restaurants.
